Rust Retro Toolcupboard

The Retro Toolcupboard in Rust. This was quite a weighty asset with lots of components so I tried to keep it as optimised as possible. This included uv duplication and mirroring, as well as baking down as many smaller elements such as wires as possible. Comprised of two 2k maps, one opaque and the other transparent.

Lights are achieved mostly with emissives, but FX and Screen UI work done by Petur Agust.

Wires baked down to surface combined with meshes at either end. Some manual cleanup required to remove the baked parts under floating geo.

I had some room on my transparent UV, so baked this wire to a donut shape to give it some height. Easily lodded out too. The ends are geometry to give more volume.

Using anchorpoints to create a peeling veneer effect.

Dynamic contents baked down to very low poly assets. The glass has refraction so you can get away with a fair bit.
